Official launch of Kupchicks

This is going to be the official launch of a line of girl illustrations I will be doing known as Kupchicks. This is the first one, I will post more as I complete them. I will also be doing a calender with my friend Anthony coloring it. Lots of work ahead but I'm looking forward to it.

Happy Holidays

These are a couple of my drawings that were colored by Anthony Aguinaldo. I work with Anthony presently and not only is he super talented but is also one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I hope we can work together for a long, long time.

Disney's Hercules

I dug up some old drawings I did for the animated version of Hercules while I was at Disney. Ron Clements and John Musker where the directors and they were nice enough (or foolish enough), to let me design and animate this character and his buddies. This guys name is Ithiclese (I don't even remember how to spell it) and I got to name his two buddies, Parenthesis and Igottasneeze. I was originally going to help Nik with Hades but then I got to do these guys and a bunch of other incidentals which is what I got credited for animating on the feature. I loved working on Hades but it is really nice to have your own little character, now matter how small. I really loved working with Ron and John and they let me do some visual development on Treasure Planet which I will post at a later date.

Monkeyman and O'Brien

Yes, Warner Brothers was developing a Monkeyman and O'Brien animated series. Man I would have loved to work on this show. I have alway really admired Arthur Adams stuff. I remember when my good friend Joe said to me "You gotta check out this guys' stuff!" He then proceeded to show me the Micronauts and Longshot. I have been a huge fan ever since.

Thundercats

Here is some more work I did for Warner Brothers Development. They asked me to take a stab at the Thundercats characters. It is a property that they have been looking to revive for a while. They didn't go for my designs but I was this close to working on the show and the show was this close to getting the greenlight, but sadly it didn't happen. How cool would it have been to work on a new version of Thundercats. I was getting ready to slap a huge version of the logo on the back window of my truck.

Lobster Johnson

After finishing up on Turok, the director Tad Stones was hoping(along with the rest of us) that we would get to do another Hellboy. Tad directed the 2 previous Hellboy direct-to-videos and I thought they looked great. So while we were waiting to here if Starz was going to go ahead with it, I had a little bit of time to try some Lobster Johnson designs.

Dole foods

Here are some designs of characters I did for Dole. Yes, the company that brings you the fruits and vegetables. I guess they wanted to create a group of superhero characters based on healthy foods. I have two of Brocolli, two of Banana and the villian, Sir Cancer.

Girl and Hawk

This is just me drawing some of the many things I love. I have always loved birds of prey and the art of falconry. And of course girls in lingerie, God bless Victoria's Secret.

Niko and Kika

These are some more designs I did for development at Warner Brothers. This show was going to be WB's answer to the extremely popular Dora the Explorer, only with chameleons. I thought it would make a really cute show.

Seamen Karaoke

These designs were for a show that I was helping to develop at Warner Brothers. It was going to be for a late night release (like adult swim) and was going to be an anime parody. Lot's of sexual innuendo and very funny. This is Keith Kaczorek's baby. I loved working with Keith. I have some more drawings but not in my computer. I will have to scan and then post them. I loved working on this show.

My book

This is the cover, title page and some illustrations from my book that I self-published. The book was originally a collaboration with Michel Gagne, he designed 50 of the rabbits and I designed 50. But I painted all of them. It took me years. Half way through painting the rabbits, Gagne said that he did not want to be involved in the project anymore. He said "It's your baby, you run with it". Needless to say, I was very hurt and disappointed when a few years later he decided to publish his drawings in a book without saying a word to me. It kind of took the steam out of this for a while but I decided to plow ahead and publish it. I had done too much work on it not to. The book is available on Amazon.com. The logo on the cover was rendered in ink then modeled in Maya.

Macy Gray show

Working for Warner Brothers was great. The development department was so kind to throw a bunch of work my way. I really love those people and appreciated all the work they gave me. This was another project that was under development that I was asked to do some designs for.

Batman

Here are some designs I did for the Batmam tv series. Working with Jeff Matsuda and Jose Lopez was awesome. Super nice people and super talented as well. Plus I love the Batman, how could I not enjoy it.

Top Cat Remake

I did these designs for a re-make of Top Cat that was in development at Warner Brothers. The designs were essentially the same except for wardrobe changes. The girl cat "Roxy" is new and Officer Dibble was changed completely.

Ugly Princess

These designs are for a project I was working on for Merv Griffin. It was a story he wrote that he wanted to turn into an animated feature and a book. It was great to meet the man. Too bad this fell through, it would have been fun.

Firehouse Tales

These designs are from another really fun show to work on. It was called Firehouse Tales and the main characters were vehicles and were 3D but they wanted me to do all the incidental characters in a very graphic and "designy" style. I had a blast with this stuff.

More Turok

I just wanted to post a few more designs from Turok. Some of the characters got very detailed and intricate like the Comanches.

Turok

Here are some designs I did for "Turok, Son of Stone". I had such a great time on this production. It was fun to design and it was one of the best crews I ever worked with and Starz Media was a great place to work. Nice and close to my house and life drawing every Tuesday thanks to Joe Wack.

Who wouldn't have a great time drawing dinosaurs and prehistoric beasts.

girl band

These are some designs I did through my friends studio (CAATS) for a client who wanted some ideas for an all-girl band. She didn't like them but I was proud of them.

Christmas cards

These are a series of six cards I did for Christmas this year. I did these in the style of a French(Belgian) comic book artist who I think is a genius. His name is Janry and he works with a guy named Tome on the Petit Spirou and Spirou comics published by Dupuis. I sent some to all of my friends and I would also like to send a complete set along with one of the originals to Janry and let him know how much I appreciate and enjoy his work, especially Petit Spirou. I inked the pieces with a brush pen and then colored them in Photoshop.
